2009년 건설재해자중 입사근속 개월 6개월 이하의 근로자가 88.8%를 차지하고 있는 것으로 봐서 재해자 대부분이 작업미숙과 안전의식이 부족한데서 비롯되므로 건설재해를 줄이는데 안전교육이 얼마나 중요한가를 말해주고 있다. 그러나 현재 건설근로자를 위한 안전교육이 대부분 매우 형식에 치우쳐 교육을 위한 교육일 뿐이며 근로자들에게 안전교육 시간은 여전히 지루하고 따분한 시간일 뿐이다. 이러한 이유는 작업과 상관없는 교육내용과 계층별·직종별 등 개인적 특성을 무시한 일괄교육, 강의식 위주의 교육방법에서 기인하며 이는 더 이상 근로자의 적극적인 자발적 참여를 유도하지 못한다. 이에 본 연구는 건설근로자의 적극적이고 자발적인 안전교육 참여를 유도하여 건설재해의 효과적 저감에 기여하며, 또한 효과적인 안전교육을 도모하기 위한 수단으로서 건설근로자의 개인적 특성에 맞는 안전교육 콘텐츠를 제시하고자 한다.

The statistics for the year 2009 showing that 88.8% of construction accidents were incurred by workers in less than 6 months after employment are a vital evidence indicating that most accidents are likely to happen due to inexperience and lack of safety sense and that safety education is essential to reduce construction accidents. In most cases, however, safety education for construction workers, has been simply operated formally and, thus, regarded as boring and tedious by trainees, since it has been conducted for education’s sake only. Laborers can not find interest in the education that is given mostly in classroom and is not related to their practical work, without considering their individual needs, characteristic, level and type of work, resulting in no more laborers’ voluntary participation in it. The purpose of this study is to suggest the safety education method in compliance with individual character of construction workers as a means to promote effective safety education, and, by so doing, to reduce ultimately occurrence of accidents in the construction fields.
