유비쿼터스 환경에서 다자간 회의는 다양한 서비스를 위한 기본 응용 기술 중의 하나이며, 계층적 다자간 회의는 이 환경에서 유용하게 이용된다. 본 논문에서는 단말기 사이의 미디어 지연 및 단말기 자원을 고려한 계층적 다자간 회의 구성 방법을 제안한다. 단말기를 소지한 새로운 참가자가 운용되고 있는 점진적 계층적 다자간 회의에 참가 하고자 할 때, 새로운 참가자(연결을 요청한 단말기)는 회의의 기존 참가자(연결을 요청받은 단말기)에게 연결 요청을 하고, 연결을 요청받은 단말기는 회의 내 단말기들 가운데 회의 구성 후 단말기들 간의 평균 미디어 지연을 최소화하는 순서로 정렬하여 연결을 요청한 단말기에게 단말기 목록을 전달하는 방법이며, 이를 전달 받은 단말기는 단말기 목록을 이용하여 회의에 참가한다.

The multipoint conference in ubiquitous environment is expected to be one of the fundamental applications for various services, and a hierarchical conference can be used well in this environment. This paper introduces an algorithm to consider media delay between the terminals, and consider each terminal's computing resources. When a new participant with a multimedia terminal wants to join a hierarchical conference, new participant (requesting terminal) sends a call request to a participant (requested terminal) in the conference. The requested terminal sorts the terminals as a sequence to minimize an average media delay, sends the sorted terminal lists to the requesting terminal. Then the requesting terminal joins the conference with the terminal lists.
