최근 한국교회에서는 전도의 위기에 대한 인식을 갖고 다양한 진단과 해법들이 등장하고 있다. 그러나 그러한 시도와 병행되는 전도에 대한 신학적 이해와 성찰은 부족한 형편이다. 전도를 신학적 이론으로 규명하기를 낯설어 하기도 한다. 이는 실천과 이론에 대한 단편적 이해에서 비롯된다고 볼 수 있다. 본 고에서는 전도를 신학적으로 성찰하는 작업이 이론과 실천의 역동적인 관계에서 볼 때 필연적인 과정이며, 또한 이러한 신학적 성찰의 과정을 통해야만 전도의 목적과 가치에 대해 바른 로드맵이 구상될 수 있음을 주장하고자 한다. 그 동안의 전도 프로그램들에도 이미 신학의 주제들과 인간 소통 방식에 대한 이론적 함의가 내재되어 있다. 따라서 우리는 전도 사역의 과제를 신학적 기반 위에서 성찰해야 하는 시대적 과제를 안고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 전도 사역의 내용인 복음은 축소된 속죄론이 아니라 하나님 나라의 맥락에서 더욱 본질적으로 조명될 필요가 있다. 본 고에서는 복음 전도의 신학적 의미에 대한 진단을 제시하는 동시에, 또한 현 시대에 전도의 과제를 새롭게 정립하기 위해서 과거의 전도에 대한 함축적 정의들이 비판적으로 진단된다. 이러한 과거 전도 프로그램들은 교회성장주의와 이원론적 구원관이라는 틀에 의해서 형성된 측면이 많다. 그리고 이는 복음과 전도 사역에 대한 엄밀한 실천 신학적 성찰의 결과로 형성된 틀이라기보다는 문화적 패러다임에 더 가깝다고 볼 수 있다. 결론적으로, 본 고는 전도적 실천의 방향을 선교적 교회론의 틀에서 이해하는 것이 더욱 성경적인 일관성과 문화적인 요청에 부합하는 패러다임이 될 것이라는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

It is commonly assumed that the Korean church is experiencing the crisis of evangelism. In response, the variety of approaches and solutions to evangelistic crisis have been proposed. However, there are rare attempts to understand and explore the theological implications of evangelism in parallel with such practical enterprises. To investigate evangelism theologically sounds to some unnecessary or awkward, for evangelism is, above all, understood to be practice. This paper is to contend that theological reflection on evangelism is a necessary step in light of the dynamic process of theory and practice. Also, the purpose and value of evangelism will become more obvious through this process of theological reflection. In fact, it is not difficult to find that certain theories about theological questions and human communication have been embedded into evangelism models in the past. Thus we should deal with the implied theories of evangelism in the past on a theologically correct ground. Such frameworks as Church Growth model and dualistic view of salvation are close to the cultural paradigms, which would distort the concept of evangelism as a theological praxis. In conclusion, this paper suggests that the direction of evangelistic practices would be better grounded in the framework of missional church theory.
