다문화를 고려한 초등영어교육과정 몇 교재 개발의 방향

The purposes of this paper are to suggest the objectives and achievement standards of the Primary English National Curriculum, and to present the directions of developing teaching materials based on multiculural education. In order to achieve these purposes, the definition of the multiculural education and theoretical researches on the multiculural education are reviewed, the 2007 English National Curriculum and Primary English Textbooks are analysed, and 4 teachers’ lesson plans were diagnosed. Also, 5 primary teachers were interviewed in terms of the multiculural education. The results indicate that the objectives and the achievement standards of the National Curriculum need to be devised and the teaching materials should be presented in the textbook and teachers’ guide book considering the multiculural education. Thus, in this paper, the directions on the objectives and the achievement standards of the National Curriculum, and the teaching materials in the textbook and teachers’ guide book considering the multiculural education are suggested.
