Many different supplemental energy dissipating devices have been proposed to assist for reducing harmful effects of earthquakes on structures. This paper presents an experimental study of seismic behaviors of steel frame with added fluid viscous damper. Then, Shaking-table tests were conducted on a third scale model structure one story steel frame with added
fluid viscous damper. Experimental results show fluid viscous damper is effective on reducing the seismic response.
