The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of single-session music therapy intervention on pain, anxiety and depression of the gynecologic cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Subjects were 75 gynecologic cancer patients receiving chemotherapy in gynecology clinics of S hospital in Seoul. They were randomly assigned into the two groups: the experimental group(n=38) and the control group(n=37). The data collected from 67 subjects (32 from the experimental group and 35 from the control group) were analyzed and 8 subjects who were away or did not participate in post-test were excluded. This study consisted of pre-test, intervention, chemotherapy, and post-test. The experimental group participated in single-session
music therapy program, while the control group did not participated. The single-session music therapy program consisted of various musical activities such as singing, songwriting, improvisation, playing, and music listening. Independent t-tests were employed to compare the scores of the two groups. Results showed significant differences in the scores of pain, anxiety, and depression between the two groups(p<.05). It is implied that the single-session music therapy can be useful as intervention to decrease pain, anxiety, and depression of gynecologic cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.

이 연구는 일회성 음악치료 중재가 항암화학요법을 받는 부인암환자의 통증, 불안 및 우울에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 연구의 대상은 서울시내의 S종합병원에 입원한 항암화학요법을 받는 부인암환자 67명으로 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각32명, 35명이 포함되었다. 연구는 2009년 4월 28일부터 6월 12일까지 일회성 음악치료를 중재로 하여 시행되었으며 측정은 실험집단, 통제집단 각각에 Wewers와 Lowe(1990)가 개발한 통증 측정도구, Spielberger(1972)가 개발하고 김정택과 신동균(1978)이 번안한 상태불안 측정도구, 그리고 Zung(1965)이 개발하고 신석철(1977)이 번안한 우울 측정도구를 이용하여 일회성 음악치료 중재 전, 후로 실시하여 데이터를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 일회
성 음악치료가 항암화학요법을 받는 부인암환자의 통증, 불안 및 우울에 긍정적인 효과가 있었으며, 그 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하였다(p<.05).
