This paper is an experimental study of the fire risk and cause on freezing protection heating cable. I did conduct several tests in order to prove fire hazards It is summarize as follows; overheating test, breakdown of insulation test, tracking test and arbitrary cutting using test of heating cables. This experiments was performed with Self Regulating Heating Cable and Silicon Belt Heater which is widely distributed on the market. As a result, I examined a fire break out under any specific conditions if heating cable’s insulation is breakdown by Joule’s heat. It is one of the most important factor that causes the heating cable fire is destroying insulation by careless use. We have to protect the wire clothing lest it should be torn by sharp materials.
