Evolution of and research trends in academic journals in Translation Studies : A meta-analysis of research efforts published in and out of Korea since 1999.

영어: Commemorating the 15th anniversary of Interpreting and Translation, the first-ever academic journal in translation studies launched in Korea by the Korean Society for Interpretation and Translation Studies (KSCI), this paper reports on the evolution and changes since made in research trends in the discipline in and out of the Republic of Korea. To this end, research papers published in two of the most representative international A&HCI journals and two national KSCI journals in the discipline will be analyzed: 『META』: 『Translator』s’ Journal and The 『Translator』, and Interpreting and Translation and Research in Translation Studies. Results of the 『META』-analysis will be put into perspective so as to broaden the understanding in academia of the changes in both research areas/topics and methodology with which to delve into such areas/topics. Different journals and different countries will be contrasted to see dominant trends in research topics and methodologies in an attempt to further consolidate the research foundation of translation studies in the future.
